Cloud Streaming Arrives on PlayStation Portal, Unlocking PS5 Games in Your Digital Library

Starting November 5, PlayStation Plus Premium members can stream thousands of PS5 games directly to their PlayStation Portal — no console required. In one of the device's most significant updates yet, PlayStation has officially launched Cloud Streaming support for PS5 games, including titles players already own digitally.

Previously, PS Portal could only connect to a powered-on PS5 via Remote Play. Now, with Cloud Streaming, players can access select PS5 titles from their personal library — from anywhere with a solid internet connection — whether the console back home is turned off, or in use by someone else.

Stream Your PS5 Library, Anywhere

The update enables streaming of major PS5 blockbusters from your owned digital collection. At launch, compatible games include Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, GTA V, Resident Evil 4, Fortnite, Borderlands 4, Astro Bot, and Ghost of Yōtei. These are streamed straight from PlayStation's servers — not your console.

Also included are hundreds of titles from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue and Classics Catalogue, such as Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

A Fresh Interface, Built for Streaming

The PS Portal's user interface has been overhauled to support this new functionality. The updated home screen now features three tabs:

• **Remote Play** – For connecting to your own PS5, as before.
• **Cloud Streaming** – A new tab exclusively for streaming eligible PS5 games from the cloud.
• **Search** – Quickly locate streamable games. Don't own it yet? A QR code appears to let you purchase or add the title to your library.

New Features Enhance On-the-Go Gaming

This update also introduces several enhancements across both Remote Play and Cloud Streaming:

For All PS Portal Users:

• **3D Audio Support**: Immerse yourself with spatial sound via wired headphones or compatible PlayStation Link devices like the Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite.
• **Passcode Lock**: Secure your PS Portal with a custom lock code.
• **Network Status Screen**: Check real-time connection quality for smoother gameplay.

For Cloud Streaming Sessions:

• **In-Game Purchases**: Buy add-ons and in-game currency mid-stream — no interruption required.
• **Accessibility Options**: Screen readers, adjustable text size, and other options now available within cloud-streamed games.
• **Game Invitations**: Join friends directly from the Quick Menu while streaming the same title.

What It Means for Players

This is a significant leap for the PlayStation ecosystem. PS Portal is no longer just a second screen for your PS5. It's now a portable streaming device that brings console-quality PS5 gaming to places where your console can't go — cafés, hotels, dorm rooms, or your friend's house.

It also adds flexibility at home: stream a game while someone else watches Netflix on your PS5, or play side-by-side on PS Portal while a friend uses the same console under a different profile.

With this update, Sony is doubling down on cloud as a core part of PlayStation's future. The PS Portal just got a whole lot more powerful — and for PlayStation Plus Premium members, it means your PS5 library just became portable.
