To celebrate two decades of God of War, PlayStation is releasing a limited edition DualSense wireless controller inspired by the iconic look of Kratos himself. Announced during the latest State of Play, this collector's piece drops on October 23, with pre-orders opening October 3 at 10 a.m. local time.
A Tribute to Kratos
The controller design is unmistakably God of War. It features the signature ash-grey tone of Kratos' skin with his scarlet omega tattoo wrapping across the grips—instantly evoking the Ghost of Sparta's battle-worn legacy.
Dela Longfish, Associate Art Director at Santa Monica Studio, explained the design direction:
"The form of the controller lent itself perfectly to Kratos' omega tattoo. The shape of his red ink against the grey of his ash-covered skin is one of the most iconic elements of Kratos' look across both Greek and Norse sagas."
The controller is more than just a cosmetic homage—it's a symbolic bridge across four console generations, two handhelds, and over a dozen entries in the God of War series since it first launched on PlayStation 2.

The DualSense wireless controller – God of War 20th Anniversary Limited Edition will retail for £74.99 / $84.99 / €84.99, available in limited quantities. Pre-orders start October 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. local time, via direct.playstation.com (where available) and select global retailers.
Players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg can place their orders through direct.playstation.com starting at launch time. Pre-orders placed directly through PlayStation will also receive free launch day delivery, where eligible.
