PlayStation has revealed its latest collaboration with the LEGO Group, introducing an official LEGO replica of the original PlayStation console and controller.
Announced during today's State of Play, the LEGO PlayStation celebrates more than 30 years of PlayStation history, bringing together two brands closely associated with creativity, games and play.
For the first time, PlayStation fans and LEGO builders will be able to construct a brick-built version of the original PlayStation console, complete with its iconic controller. The 1,911-piece set is designed at a close-to-1:1 scale, with the completed console measuring approximately 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide.
PlayStation worked closely with LEGO designers to create a building experience inspired by the console's origins. Alongside the familiar exterior design, the set includes several hidden details and references to PlayStation history.
Two classic games from the original PlayStation era are represented through dedicated dioramas: Ape Escape and Gran Turismo.
The Gran Turismo display features a miniature racetrack with scaled-down cars. At the same time, the Ape Escape diorama recreates a nostalgic island scene. Builders can also swap the light on the monkey's helmet between blue and red.
Both dioramas can be removed from the main build and displayed separately.
The set also includes several interactive features. The console's Power and Open buttons use functional mechanisms. At the same time, the LEGO PlayStation controller can be plugged directly into the brick-built console, helping the model closely recreate the experience and appearance of the original hardware.
LEGO PlayStation release date and price
The LEGO PlayStation will launch on October 1, 2026, through PlayStation Direct at direct.playstation.com.
LEGO Insiders will also receive Early Access on LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores starting October 1, before the set becomes available to everyone through LEGO on October 4, 2026.
The recommended retail price in the UK is £139.99.
Whether fans first experienced PlayStation when the console arrived in 1994 or discovered the brand through a more recent generation, the set is designed as a buildable celebration of PlayStation history.
