Marvel fans finally got another look at Marvel's Wolverine during Sony's June 2026 State of Play presentation, offering fresh gameplay footage and a closer look at one of the most anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusives on the horizon.
Developed by Insomniac Games, the studio behind the acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series, Marvel's Wolverine is scheduled to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on 15 September 2026. The project is being created in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, bringing one of Marvel's most iconic heroes to the forefront in a dedicated action-adventure experience.

Among the listed retailers, EE currently offers the lowest standard pre-order price at £61.99, while several other stores are pricing the game at £62.99.
A Darker Marvel Adventure
Unlike the colourful world of Spider-Man, Marvel's Wolverine appears to embrace a much darker and more brutal tone. Players will step into the role of Logan as he investigates mysteries tied to his past, facing dangerous enemies and uncovering long-buried secrets along the way.
According to the official description:
"As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be."
The latest gameplay footage showcased fast-paced combat, devastating claw attacks, and cinematic storytelling that appears to capture the character's ferocity and determination.
No Collector's Edition Confirmed
One piece of news that may disappoint dedicated fans is Insomniac's confirmation that Marvel's Wolverine will not receive a Collector's Edition. With many major PlayStation releases launching alongside premium physical editions packed with statues, steelbooks, and collectables, some fans were hoping for a similar treatment here.
However, the absence of a Collector's Edition doesn't necessarily mean there won't be special products tied to the launch. Reports suggest a limited-edition PlayStation 5 console bundle and themed DualSense controller could still be announced closer to release.
For now, only the standard edition of the game has been confirmed.
One of 2026's Biggest PS5 Exclusives
Marvel's Wolverine has been highly anticipated since its original announcement, and the latest gameplay reveal has only increased excitement ahead of launch.
